Store Cattle & Store Sheep

Store Cattle

Hexham and Northern Marts held its weekly sale of 111 store cattle and suckled calves. A varied entry of cattle this week which still met a competitive trade with finishers and grazers still eager for cattle.

A shortage of older cattle this week but the sale peaked at £1660.00 for a pure-bred Angus heifer from Mr W D Allen, Stoup Hill.

Two Limousin cross beasts went on to make £1490.00, firstly a 14-month-old steer from Mrs I Burn T/A JA & I Burn, Grange House and then followed by a black heifer from Greenchesters Farm, Otterburn.

D & J Cowan Farms, Shaftoe Moor enjoyed a successful day, trading 8-month-old stirks to £1150.00 for Limousin cross heifers and selling 6-month-old Limousin cross steers to £1140.00.

We are actively seeking more cattle of all classes week on week to fulfill our customer’s demand. Please don’t hesitate to contact our auctioneers if you are considering marketing any cattle.
