Hexham and Northern Marts have helped to raise over £3000 this month in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, with the sale of a Prime Hogg and a over – wintered Store Beast.

The Prime Hogg, from Mr Paul Henderson, made £540 in the ring, and along with donations over £800 was raised that day.

The Store Beast, bought in November by Mr Harry Ward, was funded by donations from a number of generous sponsors which were gathered at a charity ball held last June. The beast returned to the Mart, with the hammer finally falling at £1620 to Mr Robert Nicholson, Canon Hall Farm, near Barnsley.

Dispersal of the noted Suckler Beef Herd

Hexham Auction Mart, Wednesday 8^th May 2013 at 11.00am
(Within the Special May Sale of Beef Breeding Cattle)

The company will offer for sale the entire commercial herd of
top quality Limousin and British Blue cross bred cattle comprising;

17 Autumn Calving Cows with Limousin cross calves at foot

38 Spring Calving Cows with Limousin cross calves at foot

12 Limousin cross bred bulling heifers

The auctioneers would like to draw potential purchasers’ attention to this
important dispersal sale and highlight the following;

The majority of cows are either 3/4 or 7/8 homebred cattle with
breeding going back to ‘Wilodge Adjudicator’ by ‘Sympa’.

TB Testing Status of 4 years, Screened for BVD

A large number of the calves were AI bred by highly regarded
bulls such as French sire ‘Oxygene’ and the 12,000Gns ‘Overthwaite Chartered’ purchased as Stock Bull in 2009.

Many of the calves have potential to be exhibited in the show ring in which Kenny had several successes at Hexham, Carlisle, Wooler, Rothbury and The Birmingham & Smithfield Fatstock Shows.
